Glenwood Cemetery invites you to explore the beautiful park-like space with kilometers of walking trails. Our space is open free of charge to the public from dusk to dawn, seven days a week. The scenic 62-acre site is set amongst rolling hills with forest trails and connects to Delhi Park and Prince Edward Dog Park. The cemetery is only 500m from the Millenium Trail entrance and parking lot located at the intersection of Lake Street and West Mary Street in Picton.

While the cemetery does remain open year-round, the trails are not cleared of snow or ice during winter months. ATVs are not permitted anywhere on cemetery property at any time.

Address

Main entrance is 47 Ferguson St., Picton. There is an adjoining foot path at the rear which connects to Delhi Park and the Prince Edward Dog Park.

Parking

Parking in designated areas is free. Spaces are located throughout the cemetery for your convenience.

Accessibility and Washrooms

A seasonal washroom is located behind the Chapel. Trails and roadways are gravel, and can be difficult to navigate in winter months.

Property Map

Walking Trails

Maple Trail slightly more challenging trail is approximately 1.5km of varying terrain and changes in elevation. You can also add additional distance onto this walk by entering the Potters Field and exploring the adjoining Mt. Olivet Cemetery and Delhi Park.

Marsh Creek Trail offers a scenic winding route through Glenwood without hills or elevation changes. If you are entering from the Dog Park or through the Potters fields, be sure to take a right turn over the footbridge to get yourself headed in the right direction.

Dog Friendly

Leashed dogs and responsible owners are welcome and encouraged to make use of Glenwood’s paths and trails. Out of respect to the deceased, the safety of fellow visitors, and to ensure monuments remain unmarred, please keep dogs leashed at all times and promptly pick up after them.

At the rear of Glenwood (eastern side) there is a walkable trail that connects to Mt. Olivet cemetery, Delhi Park, and the Prince Edward Dog Park. 

Bird Watching

Glenwood's biodiverse landscape is home to a wide variety and densely populated home for bird species due to it's proximity to several internationally-recognized birding hotspots.

Prince Edward County's South Shore has been designated an Important Bird Area (IBA) and is home to the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory. Sandbanks Provincial Park is a popular destination for birders, and Picton Marina is a local favourite for spotting a variety of shorebird species.
